How to make a Singapore Sling

Singapore Sling is a variation of a Gin Sling. The original recipe from Raffles Hotel requires the following:

  • 30ml Gin
  • 15ml Cherry Heering Liqueur
  • 7.5ml Orange Liqueur (Cointreau triple sec)
  • 7.5ml Bénédictine D.O.M.
  • 15ml Lime Juice
  • 120ml Pineapple Juice
  • 10ml Grenadine
  • 1 dash Angostura aromatic Bitters

If you are trying to make one at home, you’ll need to have a well equipped bar… as well as a good sense of measurement for “a dash”. 😅

There is of course the easy way of using the True Cocktail Original Singapore Sling Premix. All the alcohol is mixed in precise proportions. All that is left is for you to pour 1 part of the premix into a shaker with 4-5 ice cubes, add 4 parts of pineapple juice, shake and serve. Some who like the drink a little stronger (or if the pineapple juice is sweetened), can opt to add just 3 parts of juice instead.

What if you don’t have any “bar tools”? Well, for one, measurements are in “parts”. Just use a small shot glass (or a small measuring cup for medicinal syrups!) to use per “part”. As for the shaker, a tumbler cup with a lid will work just fine.

Enjoy your Singapore Sling as an aperitif or an afternoon drink with friends and family!
